Thanks for Dress-up & Uncle Tim

On Thanksgiving the house was filled with Garcie's...
The smallest Garcie's played dress-up...
The boy Garcie's played pool...
The girl Garcie's played our favorite game..."How fast can we empty this bottle of wine?" We had a record year!
We were most thankful for Bill Miller's Thanksgiving menu that allowed the wine drinking!

A Showman & A Showoff

Sydney's heifers got Champion and Reserve Champion in her class at the Dripping Springs Fall Classic Show in Johnson City. She's not sharing that her heifers were the only ones shown in that class though...
However, I am so proud that she recieved 2nd place in Showmanship in the Sr. Division...Remember, she's just a Freshman! The girl who got 1st was a senior! Sydney is QUEEN OF THE SHOW RING!

Enough about our showman...

Here's the SHOWOFF!

After Cory bagged his first deer of the season...I believe it was actually a unicorn...since it only had one antler (4 points)...
And Chris shot the fawn sized doe...
Dad decided the next weekend to prove that he was still king of the ranch...didn't go out into the blind until almost dusk...shot it when I couldn't even see across the yard it was so dark...
Smirked as Chris admired all 9 points and said, "You know it ain't the horns that matter..." Then later asked Chris to mount it European style...

Yea...he's a badass! And he just won't let the "boys" forget it!

Fancy Trees & Singing Turkeys

Last year Cadi had asked for a Christmas tree for her room... I told her she had too many other things on her list...So, this year I took them both to Garden Ridge and let them choose... Thank goodness this was a one time deal and I won't have to do it again... Of course Cadi wanted a pink one...and of course they were all out...we opted for a white tree with all pink ornaments...thank you Santa...she agreed!
Charli...who is proving she is my child every day...picked the lavender tree with all purple ornaments...SO COOL! We still haven't found stars...if you see any pink or purple stars that we could put on top let us know...

I love that the girls are going to school with their best friends, above is Charli (rt) with her friend's Reagan (center) and Natalie (lft). They were really good with the arm motions...but no singing...STILL THEY WERE THE CUTEST KIDS ON THE PLANET!

Cadi did super too! How round is that turkey, Cadi? That's our good friend Riley just behind her... Believe it or not, on their first song they gave them rhythm sticks...and Cadi didn't hit anyone with hers...I know, AMAZING!

"Smake", Mary Lou & dead deer

smake: n./ a cake that has been smashed

Lots of you asked what the cake ended up looking like from the wreck...
Here it is...Note: this is what it looked like after Natasha and I fliped it back into the box...

November 10th
Cadi earned 2 Third Place Ribbons, 1 Second and 1 First...she's no Mary Lou...
But, she really loves Coach Bianca...her favorite part was the rose Charli gave her at the end...which was my favorite part too...

November 11th
Chris took Cadi on her first hunt. I honestly think he shot the first thing he saw...which was not a far cry from Bambi...can't say I blame him...he put himself in a box in the woods with Cadi "the mouth" and told her to do the two things she is terrible at...sitting still and being quiet... It's a wonder they saw anything...
Cadi was quite afraid of the "dead" deer...she told Chris it scared her, "Daddy, I don't think it's dead....it's eyes are open." I think she may have watched that clip of Grey's Anatomy with the deer resesitation... Chris said she was quite the tracker..."She followed the blood trail like a hound dog." She gets that from me...that's usually the only reason Chris takes me hunting...to find the deer that has run off because he didn't drop it...

a Shower, a Bonfire & a Front-end Collision

Mari's shower in San Antonio was great.

The Bonfire groom's cake for Eileen's wedding turned out FAB. However in all the chaos...I didn't make it to the actual wedding...accidentally left my "wedding clothes" hanging in the bedroom along with my camera... So, luckily there were disposables on all the tables and I stole one and took pics...to come when I get them developed...

Didn't make it to the shower in Del Rio...
Natasha and I left the house around 8:20...stopped for gas and off we went...
man runs red light...and our trip was over!
By God's grace everone was fine...just shaken up.

Cadi...the aspiring Theologian

"Mommy, what does God look like?"
Was the question posed to me on our way to Hobby Lobby.
My reply, "I'm not really sure honey, what do you think God looks like?"
"He's a giant and he lives up in the sky!" was her certain reply.

45 min. later eating dinner

"Cadi, why don't you ask Daddy that question about God you asked me earlier?"
She does. Chris' very theological response was, "God created man in his likeness. So, what do you think God would look like?"
Cadi quickly asks, "So, God doesn't have any shade?"

At this point I almost choked on my pie...

Halloween & "Geico"

The girls wouldn't even touch the "yuckies" when we carved the
pumpkins. "This is disgusting!" "Dat yuckie!"

GO JEFFERSON EAGLES!
Cari, always the spirt leader!

GEICO...

This is the most "circle of life" thing I've seen in a while...
These tiny lizards have been all over the house and a few have gotten in... Cadi calls them "GEICOs"... Well, this one found that I'm not a spotless housekeeper and got himself hung in a cob web...the GROSS part is...when I looked closer...the spider was eating him!!! It is Dia De Los Muertos...I just couldn't resist!

Pumpkins, a Scarecrow & Cake

The 10 min. trip to the Methodist Church pumpkin patch turned out one fab picture of the girls and a really warty pumpkin...

Cadi's school project for the month was to make a scarecrow to be displayed at the school carnival... We found this "to die for" dress, used the Ariel wig & veil from her dress-up collection, and topped it all of with a true to life close-up of Cadi's face (she insisted)...
Chris has BIG plans for her on Halloween...she may really get that husband...
YES, she really is the creepiest thing you have ever seen...and she lived in Cadi's room for over a week before she went to school last week...

Jefferson MS dedication...all the dignitaries were there...I met none...and the girls misbehaved...

At least my cakes turned out...

Weiner Dogs, Turtles & a Really Large Fairy

The Halloween Carnival at the girls' school was a good time for all...

Cadi dressed as a weiner dog in a hotdog bun...The Hallo-Weiner...and chased the boys...

Charli dressed as Franklin the turtle and ate whipped cream with no hands...

Chris chose his best costume to date and impressed all the dad's...he was "The Tool Fairy"

I was the lady bug with the camera...
Again, the Garcie's ruled supreme on Halloween!

The Blog Fairy

Tonight the Blog Fairy (cousin of Merlin) visisted the Kingdom of Garcie and brought down magic fairy gigabytes and said, "Those who dwell here must Blog." And now, there will be much Blogging.

I know, we are so behind!
Let's catch up a bit...
Cadi is 5...
Charli is 2...
Cadi acts like she's 20...
Charli acts like she's 50...

Cari & Chris pretend to "rule" the kingdom...
Cari makes the decisions...
Chris makes a lot of stuff for Cari in the garage...

And all is well in the Kingdom of Garcie.
